About the Event
Set within the Carnegie Foundation-funded 1918 Sacramento City Free Library, the Sacramento Room of the Sacramento Public Library has, since 1995, been one of the premier spots for local history research in Northern California. Join archivist James Scott as he discusses the room’s diverse collection, addresses its mission to create and make accessible digital and physical content, showcases a few of its more unique items (e.g. a book made of poison, a 15th c. Psalter), and speaks to the challenges and advantages that come with operating an archives within a very library-centered universe.
This event is free for Members of the Sacramento Historical Society, $10 for Non-Members
